Whiskey Charlie's Liquor is a locally owned Package Store operated by Jarrek Hartsell and Ted Backer. The name comes from our grandfather, who also owns a liquor store in Texas. He is known in his neck of the woods as Whiskey Charley. When we purchased The Cork liquor stores in 2009, we wanted to give it a more recognizable and fun name, and we wanted to honor our character of a granddad; so we felt Whiskey Charlie's Liquor fit just right.
We are 4th generation liquor peddlers, but only the second generation to do it by the law. Our Great and Great-Great Grandfathers both spent time in the pen
for bootlegging back during prohibition. We spent our childhoods playing and "working" in our grandpa's store.
Whiskey Charlie's Liquor prides itself on being an informational store, with a fun and friendly atmosphere. Come in and say hi!
